Jones | easy (less than 1 mile):A short but impressive waterfall with year-round beauty located off Quartz Valley Road near Ft. Located along the historic Ney Springs Canyon Trail, you’ll pass a former resort location along the way that has since been taken over by nature. It is accessed by a trail off a road very near Lake Siskiyou. Shasta | easy (less than 1 mile): This beautiful 50-foot cascade is a sight to behold. Park a half-mile east of the Sweetbriar exit on Interstate 5 and follow the creek to the falls. There’s even a solid vantage point and photo op from a nearby bridge. Just a half-mile east of the Sweetbriar exit on Interstate 5, this refreshing mini-excursion is for anyone traveling through. Sweetbriar Falls | Dunsmuir | easy (less than 1 mile):What Sweetbriar Falls lacks in size, it makes up for in ease of access and steady flow. (NOTE: There are current plans underway to expand this path to another local waterfall called Mossbrae Falls, but current access to Mossbrae is illegal and not advised at this time.) Local legend says that stagecoach robber Black Bart once used this spot as his hideout. What sets this waterfall apart is a trail that leads directly behind the waterfall before continuing up to a scenic lookout over the mighty Sacramento River. Hedge Creek Falls | Dunsmuir | easy (less than 1 mile):A short picturesque hike just off Interstate 5 leads you to a lovely thirty-foot cataract. The path between lower and middle McCloud falls is the easiest, and great for all ages. Located just off highway 89 on the McCloud River Loop, all three waterfalls are accessible by car (free parking) or along a 1.5-mile footpath (3 mile roundtrip hike). McCloud Falls | McCloud | easy-experienced (drive 1.5 miles or hike 3 miles roundtrip): A beautiful three-tier waterfall on one of Northern California’s most scenic waterways.
